Newborn: Sophie

Fact: Hanging around awesome people leads to meeting more awesome people.
I met this sweet couple through mutual friends and I was thrilled when they asked me to document this special time in their lives. Jovanna and Andrew are the proud parents of babygirl Sophie and they couldn't be more in love with her (and I can't blame them).
In preparing for the shoot, fashion forward momma put together a number of incredibly amazing outfits and looks for baby to pose in.. but Sophie put her foot down about what she was okay with and what she wasn't into at all (as any diva would). For example, she was incredibly happy and chill in the gorgeous tutu. But when it came time to get nakey and wear pearls.. she wasn't having it. Luckily I've done enough newborn shoots to know that being flexible and looking for that sweet interaction between parent and baby inevitably leads to great unexpected shots.
So for all accounts this shoot was a total success in my book. Its the perfect mix of well-styled shots, showing a calm and happy baby... random detail shots that make up this family's happy life (including furry baby Jack who is too yum for words!)....  and shots that we didn't plan for but that were created organically from their efforts to soothe and comfort Sophie.
I especially love that these were shot in their home and with the available natural light, because this is exactly how they experienced their sweet baby girl in those first few days of her life. I couldn't be happier with how they came out and hope that ya'll love them too! As always.. they were shot and worked on with a lot of love!!

How handsome and gorgeous are Andrew and Jovanna?! And don't get me started on Sophie's fierceness!! Love this little family!
Jovanna + Andrew.. thank you for letting me into your home and trusting me with this shoot. You two have been truly blessed with a tiny angel and I couldn't be happier for you! Wishing you health and happiness! God bless!! xo
