Twin Beams over the Hudson

Later that day... my roommate and I attended a lantern lighting ceremony at Pier 40 along the Hudson, which was sponsored by the New York Buddhist Church. It was the perfect place to view the twin beams that were lit in memory of the towers... (even though from the distance the beams look like a single light it was still a very powerful and amazing sight.) If you look closely at the bottom of the first pic you can see some of the lanterns that were floated out that evening. And even though night photography is still my weakest skill... these are two of my most favorite shots ever:
